Prepare for an Aussie invasion

It is the beautiful, bright colours that make up the personalities of the Samoan people and Angela Mcintosh and Carol Dowsey say these colours also portray the hearts of Samoans.

They have only been here for two days but they are just amazed by the brightness.

“It’s everything - the way they design and paint their ie lavalava’s, the rocks in front of the houses, the pictures on their buses - it’s just so eye catching,” they said.

Talking to the Samoa Observer they said that the people have been so generous and kind to them, they have enjoyed their stay here in Samoa very much.

“Samoans are such beautiful, kind people in terms of their hospitality. We have been to some other places in the Pacific, but this is certainly by far the best trip we have ever had,” they said.

They also said that people have been very helpful showing them to places that they wanted to go to that were not clearly sign posted and even fanning them while they were asking for directions.

It is this kind of behaviour that Angela and Carol said they will always be thankful for.

Both from Melbourne, Australia, Angela and Carol said they are here for a holiday but they feel very happy and relaxed.

“This is exactly what we were looking for during our short time here.”

Despite the weather being very hot and being far away from Apia because they are currently based at Return to Paradise Resort, nothing has stopped their eagerness to explore the town markets to do shopping for ie lavalava’s and Samoan t-shirts.

“We think Samoan people should start getting the word out about this beautiful island for the reason that a lot of people like us are looking for a different place to go for a vacation.

“We think that once the word gets around, you will find a lot more people coming. I know that some people are tired of going to the same old places and we are all looking for something else. Plus it is not far from Australia.

“You will get an Aussie invasion,” they promised.

For Carol and Angela, they are definitely excited to see what Samoa has got to offer them next.

They will be leaving next week Wednesday and they are keen to know a little more about Samoa before they go.
