A group called Emerging Artists (E.A.) has wrapped up its Project Cinderella with Mapuifagalele Home of the Age.

They did this last Saturday, ending a six months programme where group members donated more than 200 hours of community service to the home of the elders.

Project Cinderella Phase 2 was launched in May 2018 and since then, E.A. was at the Home every third Saturday to provide a range of services like church decorations, health clinic, hair styling and including providing entertainment for the elders like singing, dancing as well as Bingo.

During one of the Cinderella sessions, Miss S.F.A. 2017 – 2018, Miss Charlize Leo, who is a Founding Member of EA also presented a donation to the value of $2,000 to the Home of the Age and the Little Sisters of the Poor.

The finale was extra special and glamorous because of the collaboration with Samoa Faafafine Association, Samoa National Youth Council, Anoamaa Queens Association, Samoa Events Incorporated, Miss Samoa 2018 – 2019, Miss Sonia Piva and Miss Samoa Faafafine Association, Ms Barbara Tiufea Vaa.

E.A. Members all dressed up to bring the project name to life, an approach that was thoroughly enjoyed by the Home, the nuns as well as the workers.

“We are blessed and excited that we are now wrapping up Phase 2 of our Cinderella Project. This initiative was first implemented in 2016 and it also ran for six months,” says Kevin Lucky, President of E.A.

E.A. Members made this commitment once again in May this year and we are happy that six months later, we are still at it and we have developed a connection with the Home, Kevin continued.

Both the Miss Samoa and Miss Samoa Faafafine Association were among the crowd and they too dressed up for the occasion.

For Miss Samoa and SEI, despite the busy schedule with all the preparations for the upcoming Miss Pacific Pageant, they made sure they were attending the Project Cinderella Finale.

“Oh I couldn’t miss it! It’s my first time here in Mapuifagalele and it was a wonderful feeling being surrounded and chatting to the elders. I admire the work of our people and the nuns looking after the Home,” said Miss Sonia Piva!

Sonia also casually mentioned that it was a blessing to not feel underdressed given that E.A. members and some of its partners were all in style as part of the glamorous event.

Miss SFA, Barbara Tiufea Vaa stated “Although I am a member of E.A., I am happy to represent the SFA Executive and Members to this great initiative. It’s not just a glamorous event but the key message is to serve.”

One elder thanked E.A. for their continuous assistance to the Home and especially bringing the Miss Samoa & Miss SFA to them.

Sister Lucy of Mapuifagalele during her last note said “Thank you E.A. and everyone for your helping hearts for the Home. God bless you and your families and we look forward to working with you again.”

E.A. members and its partners completed the programme with church decorations after the health clinic and Bingo game with the elders and also some entertainments.
