Many people complain about changes in Samoa.

But Pua’aiti Ifi begs to differ.

The 60-year-old father from the village of Vailu’u Tai told the Village Voice that changes help develop our country.

“We are moving forward because of the changes,” he said.

“To me personally, the changes are good for us all. We have to adapt and learn.

“How do you think we got to have nice roads, beautiful school buildings for our children?

“This is why I told myself that changes help the people of Samoa.”

But changes bring good and evil.

“We have to accept it,” he said. “You must know that this world is full of changes and to be honest, without changes evolving from time to time you wouldn’t realize the person you’ve become today.

“But the thing is we can’t just sit while the world is moving forward.

Pua’ati’i went on to say that instead of complaining, we should accept and adapt to changes because we are moving forward.

“Today we are officially opened our new primary school building,” he said.

“Our children are lucky to be learning in new buildings and no doubt they will have everything else needed for education.”

He praises the work of the government by bringing changes that help Samoa become a better place.

“You see all these projects we have now are good for us. It shows that our country is moving forward.”

As for his village, he said he couldn’t be happier.

“Our village is very good in terms of working together for village’s wellbeing,” he said.

“We have meetings to discuss what to improve and what to be taken care off.

“This encourages every family in the village to play their role so everyone benefits.”
