A 40-year-old father has admitted raping his 16-year-old biological daughter twice.

The matter was presented before Supreme Court Justice Tafaoimalo Leilani Tuala-Warren.

She issued a suppression order on the name of the defendant.

The father is charged with rape and incest.

The matter was initially scheduled for a trial, however defense Lawyer, Diana Roma, informed the Court the defendant wishes to enter a guilty plea.

Prosecuting was Assistant Attorney General, Rexona Titi. She did not object.

According to the Police summary of facts on this case, two sexual incidents occurred on January and September 2017.

The Police report notes that the first incident occurred when the victim was asleep when she suddenly felt someone removing her shorts.

The father then blocked her face with a pillow and raped her.

She told the Police her parents argued on the night in question.

The second incident occurred in September, 2017 where the victim was cooking. Her father took her into a bedroom and had sex with her.

The Police report further says the victim told her mother about what happened and when her mother confronted her father, he turned around and assaulted her.

The father entered a guilty plea through his lawyer to the two sex charges.

Justice Tafaoimalo has scheduled sentencing for the father on 13 June, 2018 at 12:30pm.
