B.S.L. winners on their 39th birthday

Eighteen lucky customers from both Upolu and Savaii were gifted with  BSL hampers and vouchers throughout the week.

These winners are for their Buy and Win promotion as well as the BSL Facebook promotions that form part of the “We are 39” anniversary promotion”.

The celebration of 39 years of services in Samoa for BSL has indeed become one of BSL’s truly landmark moments.

BSL is also paying tribute and all honor to the founding parents, Afioga Tiufea Meredith and Meilan Meredith for having the heart for the Samoan community back when people didn’t value stationery. It was unavoidable to look back at the long journey the founders came through when they decided to start the stationery business to assist Samoans with stationery needs.

“Our celebration is not so much of a festivity but a solemn occasion to pause and look back at this 39 year long journey”, says BSL General Manager, Tiufea Meredith.

“Aside from all the challenges there is a great lesson to be learnt from the simple act of giving back to the people who are supporting us every day” continues Mr Meredith.

“There were challenging times and still are, however I am sure all other business people will appreciate that it is never easy to continue to stay in business” says Mrs Meilan Meredith.

But as a result of their collective efforts, BSL was born in 1977 and was the first and only stationery store in Samoa.

Mr and Mrs Tiufea and Meilan Meredith are still at the center of the business and have adapted well with modern technology, products, customer behavior as well as business and competitive attitudes.

The week started off with the Buy and Win promotion for both Upolu and Savaii, for which winners were drawn daily from customers whose purchase was $39 or more.

As part of their commitment to investing in schools in Samoa, 10% of every purchase of $39 or more goes to any school nominated by the customer. Some of the schools receiving the most donations from BSL and its customers are Robert Louis Stevenson School, Vaitele Primary School, Pesega LDS Primary School and College and Saint Mary’s College.

The Facebook promotion attracted many of their followers residing overseas who happily gave their prizes away to their families in Samoa.
