The Samoa Touch Rugby Association has completed its programmes for 2016, with Tama ole Vainuu wining its Annual Christmas competition.
President of Samoa touch association Hobart Va’ai says “this has been a successful year for touch rugby; we have just finished one of our most successful business house competition and successful NPC”.
“I wish to extend my gratitude to all the teams that participated in our Christmas one dayer this year, 2016 was a great year but 2017 will be even better”. The Cup Final went down to the 2 toughest and undefeated teams from pool play, No Idea and Tama ole Vainuu.
The Cup final was a tense affair, with the tournament won by one of the last plays of the game with touch national rep Frank Ahkuoi scoring before the hooter final score 3-2 to Tama Ole Vainuu. In the Championship round, Samoa Touch veteran Le Mamea Sam Ieremia led his SROS team in an upset over Club team YWAM.
