The outcome of a Public Service Commission investigation into the “security and release” of Court files from the Ministry of Justice and Court’s Administration remains unknown.

Emails from the Samoa Observer to the Public Service Commission Chairman, Aiono Mose Sua, last December have yet to be responded to.

Last year, the Public Service Commission appointed Tabitha Salima to carry out the Inquiry.

The terms of reference also looked at any material evidence relating to the use, allocation and management of Government assets. 

The Inquiry was also tasked to look at the internal policies and procedures on managing the use and access of Government vehicles and assessment during daily operations. 

“Also to assess and determine any breaches of the Public Service values, principles and code of conduct in the discharge of official duties by any person appointed under the Act.” 

Issues relating to human resource management within the Ministry was also part of the terms of reference.  

The investigation is the result of a formal complaint made by Ministry of Justice and Courts Administration employee, Tulima Pio, in relation to files that he allegedly delivered to the Minister’s office. 

The Minister for Justice and Courts Administration, Fa’aolesa Katopau Ainu’u, denied the allegations that Court files were removed from within the vicinity of the Court and taken to his office.
