Given that Samoa’s legal system is derived from the New Zealand legal system and most of the original criminal laws in Samoa are almost exact carbon copies of the laws in New Zealand, the answer to your question is yes, the legal standard for witness testimony and evidence in the court system is exactly the same as that of New Zealand.

The attorney general (as most attorney generals in samoan history) was educated in New Zealand and used to be a Crown prosecutor in New Zealand so he and the QC who was invited in to deal with this case are completely competent in the standards of prosecution required to prosecute a case.
