Twenty-four students of the Malua Bible School celebrated sweet success yesterday.

The graduation held at Malua Theological College saw 16 students graduate with certificates and eight with Diplomas of Theological Studies – including the awarding of a diploma to the late Peseta Margaret Malua, who had completed her papers before she passed away.

Graduate and Deacon Sailimalo Makerita Matafeo of the E.F.K.S. Apia said she found the Bible School courses a blessing.

“This is not the end for me,” she said.

“I will continue to stand before God for bigger and greater things to come and I think most of us today will do the same.”

Sailimalo said the Bible School is extremely helpful as it teachers a basic understanding of theology.

The journey wasn’t easy, said the grandmother and mother.

“It was a very tough because of the speed of the course and the changes from time to time, but He was with us.

“To everyone out there, there are variety of courses that will be offered for all men and women to be spiritually enriched as followers of God in our country. Come and join us!

Deacon Samoa Loau Talapusi of the C.C.C.S. Vaiala, acknowledged the hard work of teachers and the continuous support of families.

‘Our greatest supporters during our studies were our teachers, classmates, families and children,” Samoa said.

This is the seventh graduation of Malua Bible Study.

The vision of Malua Bible Study is to be a school for all men and women of the community and they also envision working in partnership with other church and community leaders in providing tools for leadership in individuals, church, society and the world.

Their main goals are; to provide basic theological education for all men and women that would develop their awareness of the Bible in ones context, to provide flexible modes of learning and teaching in a caring environment.

Not only that but to also motivate a desire to further biblical learning that will lead to Christian maturity and spiritual depth, to foster positive attitudes and leadership qualities between men and women in the church and community and most importantly, to develop a better understanding of diverse cultures and religions.
