Re: Samoa Fou Exhibition
Our people are naturally gifted with many talents, and art is one of them.
It’s an expression of one’s view like poetry. Like the saying goes; “A picture is worth a thousand words.”
I’m impressed, great job.
On that painting with the P.M., the good old Samoan saying,” Aua maua ula futifuti.” is depicted on this picture. The brilliant mind of the artist is hiding some non-spoken words by deciphering the broken “fa’asolo” as symbolic to that of the P.M. devoured by the onslaught of the O.L.P’s criticism. Poetry at its best.
The mighty reign of the P.M. was never questioned before until the O.L.P. phenomena came into the picture and “broke” that link of continuity represented by the broken fa’asolo.
