Tourists staying at the Coconuts Beach Club Resort and Spa will have the opportunity to enjoy a newly built spa at Maninoa.

The spa was officially opened yesterday with a cocktail party, which was attended by Prime Minister Tuilaepa Dr. Sa’ilele Malielegaoi, Associate Minister of Health Salausa Dr John Ah Ching, as well as members of the diplomatic community and invited guests.

The Prime Minister, in his speech to mark the occasion, congratulated resort owner Tautaimatapalapala Barry Rose for the opening of their new service.

According to general manager of the resort, Galumalemana Lina Bell, the grand opening of the new inclusive Spa offers a variety of services.

“Tourists will be having the chance to enjoy luxurious and comfortable suites for manicures, pedicures, couples’ massage and indoor as well as outdoor massages, body scrubs, facials, waxing, gecko Jacuzzi and granite outdoor soaking tubs.”

She added that the significance of reopening the spa is to cater to tourists that just come to relax.

“We don’t have televisions, phones, radios, it is for those that escape the real world and we figured that it could be good for women – it can cater to more than five people.

“Our spa is unique because of the atmosphere and feeling it has within its facilities. The maximum number of guests that can host is between 60 and 70 people and over hundred local employees,” she added. The spa was designed by international designer/creator, Robert Ross, anda took almost two years to construct. The total cost of the work was over $100,000 with most material coming from abroad, added Galumalemana.

“We had our spa before the tsunami and after the tsunami we were not able to rebuild it,” she said.
