Lured by beauty of To Sua

The To Sua Ocean Trench brought Bora and Jay Kim from Auckland, New Zealand, to Samoa’s shores.

Bora was surfing the net for a family vacation destination and he came across a site that described the trench and Samoa’s scenery.

It was love at first for Bora, and he knew that his family had to come to Samoa to actually witness the beauty of the To Sua Ocean Trench.

“It’s just beautiful,” Bora said of the trench.

“And it’s beautiful with a lot of greenery,” Jay added.

According to Bora, Samoa was listed as one of the top 10 countries to visit before you die.

While death is a mystery, at least seeing the trench and Samoa is a check on their bucket list of places to visit.

“The people are friendly and everyone is just so welcoming. We have Samoan friends back in New Zealand and they are just as friendly as the locals in Samoa,” Bora said.

“Samoa is beautiful and it’s so lush. I would definitely recommend Samoa,” she added.

Jay explained: “I think the information centre should be open on Sunday too because tourists would love to know more about Samoa. And because it was raining the whole time we were here, we’ve just been driving around and sightseeing, and today (Monday) the cloud has cleared a little a bit and we decided to come visit the information centre.”

We met the couple with their son at the Samoa Tourism Fale Information Centre on their last day.

They left the country yesterday.

Despite not spending more time in the islands, Samoa gave the family a fair share of island life that will last a lifetime and a memorable experience of the trench that will definitely see their return.
