PR - Samoa Chamber of Commerce held its first members meeting of 2018 on Monday at the Tanoa Tusitala Conference Centre, Sogi.

The meeting was chaired by Samoa Chamber of Commerce Vice President, Jennifer Fruean, who provided an update on upcoming Chamber activities.

Some of the exciting upcoming events are a seminar on Bitcoin and the Block Chain by Tony Willenberg as well as the Samoa Chamber of Commerce Annual General meeting set for 26 March 2018 at the Tanoa Tusitala Conference room.

Executive Director for Samoa Law Reform Commission, Telei’ai Dr. Lalotoa Mulitalo, gave a special presentation on the Review of the Property Law Act 1952.

Tele’iai highlighted that this is the first review for this Act since its establishment in 1952.

For the Private Sector, pertinent issues arise regarding property when mortgages and leases are involved.

The Samoa Law Reform Commission ensured that the review of the Act should reflect and enable the current environment for not only businesses but parties who will be affected.

Members were urged to provide any additional feedback or recommendations that would support Samoa Law Reform in this review.

Seven new members were introduced and they were Talofa Airways, Scanlan’s Family Restaurant, Huanan Fishery Samoa, Taumeasina Restaurant, Island Hopper Vacations Samoa, Apex Pacific Solutions and Agape Global Car Rentals.
