Toa Samoa gears up for Fiji Bati
Rugby League Samoa is preparing for two big weeks ahead.
With the Organisation celebrating it’s 30th anniversary, the highlight will be the clash between Toa Samoa and Fiji Bati at Apia Park.
President of Rugby League Samoa, Tagaloa Fa’afouina Su’a, told the Observer Sports the preparations are well underway.
Toa Samoa Coach, Matt Parrish and his coaching staff will be arriving today when he is expected to announce his team. The players are scheduled to arrive tomorrow night to begin their preparations.
The team will be staying at Return to Paradise upon arrival and will be training at Sataoa School field on Friday.
They will then depart for Savai’i on Saturday for a light session with the Savai’i residents team. This is the first time Toa Samoa will be heading to the big island and will also be an opportunity for the fans to meet the players.
Toa Samoa will return to Upolu on Sunday and will mainly be training at Apia Park or Pesega College.
The public will have an opportunity to meet all the players on Thursday, October 4th from 4pm- 6pm at the Samoa Tourism Cultural Village.
Here is the entire schedule for the Toa Samoa weekly event from October the 2nd -8th, 2016:
Sun 2nd – Arrival of NSW Country and Fiji Bati 5:15 AM and 2:40AM respectively
Mon 3rd- Savai’i Games- NSW CRL vs. Salafai U16 & Salafai 13’s at Prince Edward Field at Iva, Savaii
Tues & Weds 4-5: Team Training
Thurs 4th- Fan Day & Press Conference at Samoa Tourism Cultural Village & Welcoming Ceremony form 4pm-6pm. Australian High Commission Cocktail at 6:30 by Invitation Only.
Fri 7th- Corporate Lunch and Launch of Historical Test Match (30 Years Cake) by invitation only. Recognizing League Legends, Pinktober, NRL Beyond the Goal Post Stars
Sat 8th- 11:30AM U18’s College
Girls Game: Papauta vs. St
Mary’s College
12:10PM Samoa Residence U16
vs. NSW U16
2:30PM Toa Samoa Residence
