Fiame’s appointment well deserved
Dear Editor
While I may disagree with Fiame’s politics or I may have issues with her as a person, to even suggest that she has not earned her political appointment and has been handed it due to the fact that she is a woman is perhaps one of the most wrongheaded opinions I have ever read in the Samoa Observer.
I have been told that she was raised by one of the best P.M.’s Samoa ever had; of course an opinion only. In addition to what she must have learned growing up in a political family, all her years of service holding various cabinet positions has more than earned her, her latest appointment.
Yes this is a palagi opinion but I suspect most Samoan women and Samoan men would agree with me that she has earned her way, whether they support the H.R.P.P. or not.
My husband, a Samoan man, treats me as his equal. I in response, really like and respect him and his opinions.
I have felt more equally treated by my Samoan husband than by many palagi men.
Perhaps this could be because my husband is spiritual rather than a Christian. Also to think the P.M., who calls women snots, would appoint one because he caved to some kind of palagi opinion is just laughable.
So go figure Mr Hollywood; I think you may be a dying breed of a Samoan man.
