A police tape surrounds a pensioner’s home at Faleasiu as the Police continue their investigations.  No suspect has been found in the case of the woman who was allegedly raped and found dead at her home several weeks ago.

Police Spokesperson, Superintendent Sua Muliaga Tiumalu said police are continuing to conduct interviews to seek any leads.  “There are people being brought in for questioning,” said Sua.

“As of now, we still haven’t got any suspects but we will continue the investigation until we do.”

Sua said the case is being treated as a homicide.

As for the alleged break in at the widower’s house, Sua repeated that evidence is being dealt with by the investigating team at the moment.

He would not confirm or deny there was a break in.

The deceased was discovered days later by her sister who went to visit her.

Information passed on to the woman’s relatives is that following an autopsy, the doctor confirmed that her throat was crushed as if she was strangled and she also had head injuries.
