Healthy interaction

Re: Why family planning matters

No doubt teenage pregnancy has increased steadily over the last two decades adding to the issue of high rate of fertility.

Somebody should start to acknowledge the fact that one of the major causative factors was the lack of control around the use of small mobile communication gadgets!

These mobile phones have become so intrusive within families....the days when teenagers’ were only able to interact with friends during part of daytime, have now been replaced with communication without barriers and without notice by parents, right through past midnight.

The relative recent increase of mobile use in the country has strong correlation with the jump in teenage pregnancy incidence affecting fertility growth.

There is no question but that parents have now virtually lost complete control of setting appropriate time barriers for the young and still growing minds, to interact in a healthy manner.
