Titans win back to back Volleyball Shield

The Titans Volleyball defended their Shield title in the men’s division one competition this week.

Titans scooped the Shield from the I’asa Volleyball team on Monday and again defeated Liona Volleyball team from Laulii on Thursday.

The Volleyball Samoa Federation resumes their competition at the Samoa Independence Seventh Days Adventist Hall at Fugalei this week after two weeks break for the American Samoa’s Independence competition.

In the last round of the women’s competition, Lupe ole Soaga Women’s volleyball team, who had an undefeated run since the start of the tournament, defeated Lona Youth on Wednesday, winning in a convincing two sets.

Women’s quarterfinals and playoffs are scheduled for 10th May, 2018.

Volleyball Samoa Federation General Secretary, Leute Mataipule said the exciting results of their national volleyball league here reflected on the achievements from their team that competed in the American Samoa Independence celebration tournaments. 

During club tournaments of the men’s division in American Samoa, Uimaiama Volleyball team, from Samatau, defeated Fagalii Volleyball, from Upolu, in the final.

The Segaula women’s team from Si’usega came second in the women’s division.

In the inter-island international competition, Volleyball Samoa Federation men’s and women’s national teams claimed second place, losing to American Samoa. Hawaii came in third place.

Volleyball Samoa Federation is set to continue their Volleyball National League next week, heading on to their upcoming independence tournament.
