Racing has already started in preps for the Warrior Race, with the FORD Warrior Bike Sprints on Wednesday evening.

Twelve riders contested the Sprints in front of Government Building with Wally Collins of Afega emerging as the Lines’ honours winner.

Behind him by a few milli-seconds was Mino Cleverley of Wellington.

The Sprints is raced in a 650m circuit in front of the government building and on Beach Road. It is for 20 minutes, the concept is sprints for the entire time. In the end Collins and Cleverley rounded 17 laps each, with a bunch coming in at 16 laps.

In terms of pure lapping, there is not much difference between the riders.  But the lines’ honours was clear cut to Collins.  Saoluafata Village Triathletes was well represented in the Sprints with six riders.
