It had been a long wait for Nuuuli Vaisamoa of Vailuutai and his tears showed how much he wanted a water tank for his family.

The 54-year-old man, who has nine children, was among 21 recipients of 2000-liter water tanks from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (L.D.S) Charities.

“I am overwhelmed with joy towards the kind and generous donation by the LDS Charities in heeding our call for help.

“This help is greatly appreciated as it will lessen the load and burden upon my family, especially my children that was tasked with the responsibility of walking four times a day with buckets to attain water from the other side of our village that has accessibility to water,” Nuuuli said.

The family need water to cook, wash dishes and drink according to the father, who added that they have not had access to water for the last three years. 

“We have tried so many requests but it has been no success until now, we are able to have a water tank that can help us save time, energy but also a blessing for our family. We will also stop travelling far to bathe, now that we have a tank, and so we can finally shower at home—but even though water tanks are very useful, but it can only do so much.”

Nuuuli lives with his wife and their nine children. 

A representative from LDS Charities, Elder Scott Cameron, spoke of the importance of clean water, and how it is now available for those families who were gifted the tanks. 

“We thank the Kingdomized Church for the initiative to contact us to explain the need for fresh water in these areas, and for their work with other churches in that area, as great things can be done when everyone works today as brothers and sisters in Christ.

“But we could not have done this without the help of LDS and all the kind hands which have contributed in having these water tanks available; these donations come from both members and non-members of the Church,” he added. 

The presentation of the tanks to the 21 families were made possible through the Kingdomized Church—which made contact with LDS Charities—to put in the request for water tanks.
