Although the festive season is not quite over yet, so far it has been good.
That’s the word from the Ministry of Police, confirming that Christmas was relatively peaceful.
While everyone was celebrating the beginning of the festive season, hundreds of Police officers were still working and staying alert for any unexpected incidents.
Whether the quiet holiday might have something to do with Christmas falling on a Sunday the Police Spokesperson, Su’a Muliaga Tiumalu is hopeful that this will continue for New Years.
“Nothing major has been reported in,” Su’a told the Samoa Observer yesterday.
“Although we have not compiled all the reports from the different Police posts, so far from communication (between Police) it’s been a peaceful holiday….so far there is nothing critical.”
Compared to end of 2015 to 2016, three people had drowned at Mulinu’u.
A report from last year stated that there were also minor incidents with a few odd scuffles between drunks here and there, there were no major incidents.
