A man accused of common assault in connection to a separate incident involving Malaki Tauili’ili, prior to the one that led to his death last month, has pleaded guilty to the charge.

Robert Ash entered a guilty plea through lawyer, Arthur Lesa, who stood in for Tuatagaloa Aumua Ming Leung Wai.

Ash appeared before District Court Judge, Alalatoa Rosella Papali’i yesterday.

Judge Alalatoa declared her conflict of interest in relation to the defendant and referred Ash to be sentenced by another Judge.

The matter was prosecuted by lawyer, Rexona Titi, of the Attorney General’s Office.

Sentencing has been scheduled for 22 February 2019.
