Simona Sofara from Apolima-Uta is a hardworking father.

At the age of 25, Simona has a plantation on the outer part of the village.

He was spotted by the Village Voice team while resting on the side of the road with baskets of coconuts.

“This is me every day, I work on our plantation because I love my family,” he said.

“If you don’t have that kind of love for your family, your children won’t make it in life.

“The one reason I started working on our plantation like this was for my family. I love my family.”

Simona has a wife.

“We just started our relationship and we are staying with my family,” Simona said.

“To be honest, this is me, no matter how tired I am most of the time, I always want to provide and contribute for my family to the best of my ability.

“These days, you cannot just sit around and do nothing or sleep on a bed and expect a miracles to happen to give you what you want. That’s a no-no!”

He explained that what he’s doing everyday “is all about love”.

“Love is the best thing to have in life, no matter who we are created to be in this world, we all have roles to play,” he said.

“If you don’t have love, you just can’t carry on and perform your duties to the best of your ability.

“I mean, if I didn’t love my family then I would be roaming around every day and doing nothing.

“But there’s a very simple rule in love that goes, if you don’t have any love in your heart, then you won’t be able to make anything to take care of your family. “

Without love in his heart, Simona says he would have quit going to the plantation long time ago.

“I know family is a gift from God and that’s why I’m pushing myself to do this every day.

“To make it real – we need to work on it, knowing who I am in my family is the best feeling ever and I think love binds it all together.

“I have to help my family in whatever way God has in store in my life, so by the time I have my children, everything will be much easier to handle.

“We all know that these days are not a walk in the park, but working hard is essential,” he said.
