USP's MBA ranked fourth in Oceania

The University of the South Pacific (U.S.P.) achieved another milestone ranking fourth in Oceania for their Master of Business Administration programme under the Edu Universal Ranking 2024.

The MBA is undertaken by several Samoan students at the Alafua campus.

The University's Vice Chancellor, Professor Pal Ahluwalia said this was a great universal achievement for the university in shaping greater futures for Samoa and the Pacific.

"It's really exciting today to be able to share with you some wonderful news about our MBA, the Master of Business Administration programme which has been ranked fourth in Oceania under the Edu Universal Ranking 2024 for the best Masters in the Executive MBA category," he said.

"What an achievement for USP. First and foremost I want to congratulate all of our staff, particularly at the School of Business and Management. Their hard work and delivery of this internationally accredited programme is the very reason that we are celebrating this great achievement.

"We competed with internationally renowned universities in the region and became the only university from Fiji to rank in the top 10 Masters in the Oceania Executive MBA category. This is indeed as I've said. a significant milestone for our university.

"We've been ranked in the times higher education being ranked amongst the top 10 percent of universities in the world but this recent Edu Universal Ranking cofirmed that we continue to punch above our weight, when compared to thousands of universities worldwide."

Together, Prof. Ahluwalia said he is confident that the University can continue to be innovative in their approach as they pursue even loftier heights internationally.

"USP has become and will continue to be an institution that works towards meeting the evolving developmental and educational needs of the Blue Pacific and its people," he added.

"A prosperous and resilient region required an agile and highly productive knowledge economy led by appropriately educated and skilled people and USP undoubtedly plays and leading role in the social and economical progress steering the region ahead.

"This recognition validates not only our efforts but also ignites our programme's growth ensuring its continued success and achievement.

"Finally, being ranked fourth in the Oceania region reaffirms our commitment to excellence ensuring that we continue to provide our students with transformative education recognised regionally and gobally as we continue to shape Pacific future."

The World University Rankings 2022 has also given an “Overall University” ranking to the USP of 100-1200, physical sciences (ranked 601-800) and social sciences (501-600).
